Approximately four month from initial scope to completed deployment
Content uploads (both audio and image files) increased from hundreds to tens-of-thousands per week, and user engagement was positively impacted as well.
Zedge shifted all of its visual content from being stored according to phone class (literally one copy of each image for each model of phone) to being “classless” - meaning one master copy of each image that is cropped on board the phone. A simple upload tool was needed to allow the artist to set composition, see how it would look on different aspect ratio devices and have that setting persist in all views (thumbs, previews etc).
Taking the results of a cross-team Design Sprint, we created a series of lo-fi prototypes progressing eventually to a fully functioning, clickable prototype of the design, which was then tested by our target user group (visual and sound artists) as well as members of the general public.
The design was put into production as a responsive web platform, allowing content creators to have a consistent experience on mobile, tablet and desktop.
