One week from initial breakdown to beginning of deployment.
The base UI of iNSPIRE could be rebranded for any client or partner that wanted their own wellness app with a design and deploy time of hours instead of days or weeks. The ability to swiftly and easily customise the core technology made entirely new markets accessible to the company without major technology changes.
A number of iNSPIRE’s potential clients were interested in iNSPIRE’s technology, but wanted to retain their own brand in the platform. At the time, the current design and build had no system to support this beyond ad-hoc replacement of individual assets and colour elements, a time- and resource-intensive process.
The Tri-Root navigation system was divided up into asset and colour classes, to allow the colours for the whole app to be configured by a small set of CSS attributes. A template was set up in Sketch using nested symbols to mimic this class system, whereby the design (complete with logos) could be configured through these symbols. Finally visual assets were named in Sketch in such a way that on export they matched the folder and asset name structure of the code base, allowing for a direct import
This system was a contribution to an overall project that reduced the time to configure apps from over a week to under a day. In addition, the system improved communication with clients by allowing for fast, iterative validation of app branding and appearance with positive client involvement.
